apple farm on a perfect sunday morning

after spending sunday morning at the apple farm, we drove back to minneapolis and had a picnic lunch at lake calhoun. i was playing with mama's fork and thought it was pretty cool when it stuck out of my mouth...but look at what magically happened to be caught on film! i dropped the fork from my mouth right as papa snapped the picture and it appears to be floating!

my mommy was quick enough to capture this set-up during one of my playing-cars-sessions: Papa Mater is towing the garbage truck with a purple truck on top of it, while carrying Baby Mater on his head ... a line of cars is parading behind him in a line. {ps. mater is a tow truck and one of the characters from the cartoon movie CARS. i have two maters, so i call the big one "Papa Meo" and the small one "Bebe Meo"}

wedding fun - fun wedding

we woke-up this morning and drove north to a morning wedding for one of my mama's friends. when we arrived, my cousin lussi ran up to me and gave me a big hug. i had so much fun playing with her outside in the midst of all the trees! the coolest thing is that i finally was able to get both of my feet off the ground in my FIRST ever JUMPS as a boy! look-out, here i come!

when my great-auntie Nona was visiting us for my birthday, she taught me how to draw tree-branches (the long line) with little leaves on them (the round circles & dots). she was suprised that i actually listened/watched her and then tried to do it myself. -- well, this drawing is for auntie-Nona ... i drew it today - which means i still remember what she taught me. (and for the record, my mom did not tell me to draw trees - she had nothing to do with the matter!)

framma banet {blanket from grandma}

my framma made me this quilt for my birthday. i love it! i like to sleep with it and watch Curious George with it. the coolest thing is there are farm animals on it and i can play a game of matching the same animal in different places. (see, i found 2 cows!) framma must have spent a lot of time cutting and sewing all the fabric (you should see how meticulous the sewing is!) and she made it just for ME, wow! -- "tuuuut - framma!!" (thank you, grandma)

children's museum

lussi and i went to the children's museum to see the curious george exhibit. we were so excited that it was hard to get us to sit still and pose for a picture with george! we had sooo much fun. (ps. look at the big mosquito bites on my forehead. i don't react well to them.)

i also know my colors and am starting to count, but my mommy just hasn't been able to catch me on video (i'm sneeky that way)... (then again, so is she to be taking this video while driving!!)

minnesota state fair

we had so much fun at the fair... we took the free shuttle which meant we got to ride a BUS! we saw lot of animals and even got to feed the cows (ok, well lussi fed the cow and i was really proud of her for being so brave) and we went on the big slide (and ran into martha, ken, liam & oskar!) lussi went down with her dada and i went with my mama (shaking my head and saying 'no' once we started sliding) and brit went all by herself (how does she do that?) lussi went on a bunch of other rides in the kiddy 'midway' - she loves to spin and move fast! lussi and i both fell asleep for a nice snoozer in the strollers by the end of the day.

good night everyone

my mama started singing a good night song when we were in finland and it is now my favorite thing before bed. we sing goodnight to everyone i can think of (and say)... this is part of our practice round during my bedtime snack.

kiddy-party

we had a picnic-birthday-party with my cousins and some friends (and their parents, of course) at a theodore wirth park, near our house. it was a perfect day! my mama made me a rice crispy cake which (despite being kinda hard to cut) was SUPER tasty! when everyone sang to me, i got really shy and just stood with my head down until the singing was done. then i tried to blow-out the candles on my cake, but the wind did it for me. my cousins lussi & alison helped me open all of my COOL presents and then all of us, kids, ran around chasing bubbles from my new bubble-machine! i didn't even take a nap because i had so much fun!!

birthday boy

we had a small dinner on my birthday with phon & shawn, meg & jeremy (ryan&nicole stopped by too). we had pippa (pizza) and c'eam (ice cream). and i got some cool gifts. my mama thought it was funny that after i opened a gift, it was like pulling teeth to get me to open the next one because i didn't want to stop playing with whatever i had just received. i stayed-up late playing with my new toys {a remote-control dump truck, a wooden train set, maharam-memory, some finnish-cars, and some cool matching books)-- i LOVE them!

stella is 2

i went to stella's 2nd birthday party. her mom is so cool because she made a dr. seuss party for stella -- and even had the cake from the Cat in The Hat (you know, the one with the 'boat sunk deep in the cake' ??) it was pink. i ate it with a fork, all by myself and it tasted REALLY good!! i was very tired after the birthday party, because i had so much fun.

playing cars

as they say on MADD tv: i have brought the activity of playing cars to 'a hoow nuva lewel' {a whole 'nother level} -- in one turn around the coffee table, i created crazy car-stacks, gave one a hat and started two towing companies. i like to play with many cars at a time, because the relationships between them are (almost) more interesting than the individual cars themselves!

this one is dark, but you get the idea...i've fallen asleep at the dining room table after drinking my bedtime-milk the day we arrived home - after traveling 11 hours (sitting on my mom's lap in a plane for over 8 hours!):

FIRE TRUCK & fireman

a couple weeks ago, i visisted stella & severin in roseville and we went to look at all the public service vehicles at the park. there was a garbage truck (sev's favorite,) a fire truck, a tree/powerline repair truck, a crisis-center/homeland security truck and a "peece car" (police car). it was soooo much fun! ---(and ... look at how much stella and i have grown since last august!)

baby

i've been seeing a lot of new little babies lately (yesterday i met brianna & brecken, my 2nd cousins) - today i carried my baby piglet around the house just like people were holding the babies yesterday. i was very gentle.

aaaaaaaahhhhh!

it has been SOOOOO HOT here this weekend! we spent saturday afternoon/evening at the lake with papa's brothers & sister and cousins. this morning it was still really hot, so we all piled into my kiddy pool! (yes - me & mama & papa!) that water sure did cool us all down! it rained really hard this afternoon, and finally the temperature feels better.

camping out

we were originally going to go camping saturday night after the wedding, but there wasn't a site to be had! soooo we came home and camped out in the airstream! it was fun, but because it was the first time i'd done such a thing, i had a hard time getting used to the idea that i wasn't going to go back into my room to sleep. i did finally fall asleep next to my mom (maybe by midnight??) -- but you can bet i woke-up EARLY! i was excited for our morning visitors!

wedding - fun

i went to a wedding on saturday. i brought my cars, but had the most fun playing with the other kids in the water fountain. in the beginning i was the littlest one - and then all the big boys left, so i got a chance at the controlls. i didn't want to leave!
